History
In 1994, the bank was started recognizing the difficulties experienced by women in getting the required financial services. The bank was founded on the basis of "For benefit of Mahilas", "to be served by Mahilas" with the motto "Service with a smile". The bank was started with a share capital of Rs. 38 Lakhs in 1994, by a group of dedicated women.
The bank moved to its own building in the heart of Bangalore at Gandhi Bazaar in 2000, which was inaugurated by the first Mahila Governor of Karnataka, Smt Ramadevi.
In 2018, the bank won the "Banco Blue Ribbob 2018" award.
